A different perspective.
Time for change.
With around 50% of small businesses not making it to year 5, less than 30% of transformation projects meeting target value and over 70% of M&A failing, we face a persistent schism between the needs of leadership and the capabilities of finance.
Measured Value closes that gap shut – transforming your finance function from report to decision support.
Our approach steps outside the world of accounting to leverage best practice from diverse disciplines including elite sports, psychology, physics, client service and sales. This is combined with global CFO, FD, FP&A and business leadership experience across plc’s, PE-backed corporations, SME’s and start-ups.
The result is a practical, proven new methodology and mindset that is more effective, efficient and economical.
If you’re ready to discuss achieving clear, tangible benefits (or, as we like to say, measured value), please get in touch.
About the founder.
Hello, I’m Vinoy. I founded Measured Value to help good companies grow and great visions take flight. My credo is that you’ll get the best out of people if you treat them right, and the best out of people gets the best out of the business.
With a career spanning investment banking, central counterparty clearing, trust and corporate services, telecoms and sales, I observed a recurrent dilemma facing boards upon CFO selection of either:
a finance-qualified CFO who delivers solid reporting and financial control but is less versed at forward-thinking and compelling comms; or,
a non-finance MBA-style CFO who presents a great roadmap, but doesn’t have the technical know-how to make it happen.
Now, as luck would have it, my accidentally unconventional career path gifted me with a combination of skills to un-dilemma the above.
Firstly, I timed my Physics degree at University College London impeccably to coincide with the mid-90s recession. Accordingly, my first post-grad role was selling mobile phones for Carphone Warehouse. After a successful stretch in sales, I moved to head office as an entry-level finance assistant and commenced my accounting qualification (CIMA).
A switch to financial services commenced with LCH.Clearnet as Group Accountant and then HSBC as a global FP&A lead managing a $1bn budget across 43 countries for the investment bank.
From there I moved to a sequence of director-level positions leading to CFO of the Capital Markets Europe start-up, and then CFO of the parent division, Global Financial Markets at CSC.
Result: a global CFO who’s worked from the ground up, armed with a commercial mindset, communication skills and finance expertise. Able to talk the talk, walk the walk and deliver the change.
I thoroughly enjoy what I do and am happiest collaborating with business leaders to make a positive difference and with aspiring finance professionals to fulfil their potential.
Away from the desk, my main passions are martial arts and music. I have studied White Crane Kung Fu for over 20 years and have found the lessons in physical, mental and emotional resilience invaluable in my career (e.g. annual budget cycles).
I’ve also continued to curate an ever-growing treasured vinyl record collection of over two thousand records that I continue to enjoy on my now vintage original DJ turntables.
